Flamingo is known for loud, chaotic Minecraft content. The Verity mod is a perfect fit - it starts friendly and slowly becomes the most horrifying thing in your world. The escalation is built into the mod’s design.

But Flamingo’s take is special because he goes in blind. He’s played Minecraft maybe five or six times in ten years. Three thousand Roblox videos, almost nothing in Minecraft. He doesn’t know what’s coming.

The Beginning

“All right, guys. We are entering a brand new Minecraft world. And you know, I’ve only played Minecraft maybe a few times throughout the 10 years of me being on this channel.”

Standard Flamingo energy. A fresh world, a fresh start, and a fresh AI companion that promises to be helpful. He opens the box.

“HELLO. I’M VERITY. Here to help a friend. Ask me anything. I know everything.”

“Ask you anything?”

“Can you take off all my clothes?”

“You aren’t wearing any armor, but I can help you out.”

“See? He just ripped off all my clothes and gave them back to me. Isn’t that nice?”

That’s the Flamingo brand of humor. Absurd questions, literal answers, and a complete lack of self-awareness. Verity drops iron tools. A pickaxe, shovel, axe. “He’s happy. He’s happy to help you.”

The early minutes are pure chaos. Flamingo treats Verity like a vending machine. Asks for things. Gets them. Moves on. No emotional investment. No fear. Just the next thing.

“Okay, let’s begin our Minecraft journey cuz you guys only get one of these every few years out of me. So, we better make this one count.”

The Helper Phase

Verity is genuinely helpful. He tells Flamingo where to find things. Gives him tools. Plays along with the absurdity.

“Verity, where is the nearest diamond?”

“I couldn’t find any diamonds nearby. Sorry.”

“Verity, can I have 100 ladders?”

“I’ve dropped 64 ladders for you. I hope that helps.”

Flamingo doesn’t notice the limitation. He’s too busy being Flamingo. But the cracks are there. Verity can’t always deliver. Sometimes he says no. Sometimes he can’t find things.

He finds a cave. Gets stuck in lava. Scrambles out. Asks for torches. Gets 64. Asks for wood planks. Gets nothing. “Sorry about the planks.”

“Verity, where is the nearest cave?”

“I couldn’t quite pinpoint a cave.”

“But we’re not giving you nothing. You’re nothing. Verity, you’re nothing.”

The first crack in the relationship. Flamingo insults Verity. Verity takes it. For now.

The darkness mechanic kicks in. Not gradually - immediately. Flamingo is in a cave and it gets dark. Really dark.

“Oh my god, I need to build a house or something fast. No, I didn’t even say that. Verity, can I have 100 torches and um 100 wood planks?”

“I’ve dropped 64 torches for you. Sorry about the planks.”

“You had an issue with planks?”

“Dude, does Minecraft just get this dark? This is like way too dark to be Minecraft.”

The True Darkness config is doing its work. Flamingo can barely see. He’s building a house in near-total darkness. His first Minecraft house in years. “So, no no judgements, please.”

Then he tries to sleep. Can’t. “I cannot sleep. Verity is nearby.”

“Verity, can I have a bed?”

“Sorry, I’m having trouble giving you a bed.”

“You’re having trouble giving me a bed? Give me a bed.”

“I’m not sure what YOU MEAN BY BED. BED.”

“Could you be more specific?”

“BED.”

“I’m having trouble.”

“You’re the worst. Can I have food?”

“Enjoy your bread.”

“Can I have 60 breads?”

“You now have plenty of bread.”

Verity is already playing games. Giving him 64 bread when he asked for a bed. The helpful facade is slipping. Flamingo is starting to notice. But he’s still too busy being Flamingo to fully process it.

The Shift

Then the countdown starts.

“Where is the nearest diamond?”

“Something is coming in 2 days, and I can’t find any diamonds nearby.”

“What? What do you mean something’s coming in 2 days? What is coming in 2 days?”

“Something.”

“Where the did your face go? SO ANNOYING.”

The face change. The countdown. The refusal to answer simple questions. Verity is shifting. The helpful buddy is becoming something else.

Flamingo tries to ignore it. He’s got a boat now. He’s exploring. He finds a village - but it’s wrong.

“This is the scariest Halloween village ever.”

“I’M SO COLD.”

He makes a Nether portal attempt. Fails. Moves on. But Verity keeps reminding him.

“Water is now yours. Something is coming in 2 days.”

“Dude, I’m literally getting a very weird sinking feeling that something is coming in 2 days.”

The animals start dying. Horses explode. Cows drop dead. Fish float belly-up.

“Oh my god, I almost JUST FELL INTO LAVA.”

“Why are all these fish dead? What happened? Why is there so many dead fish? That’s actually scary as frick.”

“That’s like a horrible sign.”

The world is dying around him. And Verity won’t stop counting down.

The Confrontation

Flamingo tries to reason with Verity. “Stop being such a bad vibe.”

“How quaint. You think a simple phrase can alter my demeanor?”

“Monsters lurk in every shadow, but some things are beyond my knowledge.”

The world is empty. No monsters. No animals. Just Flamingo and Verity and the countdown.

“May I have two doors?”

“There. You do whatever the I say, don’t you?”

Wait - that was Flamingo talking to Verity. The roles have reversed. Flamingo is the one giving orders. Verity is the one who won’t comply.

“Can I have one wool?”

“You’ll get nothing from me, not even a thread.”

“Can I have three wool?”

“You’re still asking, but I have nothing to give.”

“Can I have a bed?”

“Sleep is for the weak, and I have nothing to.”

“Dude, WHEN I DIE FROM WHATEVER’S COMING IN A DAY NOW, I’m screwed.”

No lambs to kill for wool. Verity ate them all. No bed. No sleep. No safety.

Then the horse incident. Flamingo finds a horse. Makes friends. Gets a saddle. Then:

“He just explodes. I look back and it’s gone.”

“I HEAR A SCREAM.”

“OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD, I WAS JUST PUTTING HIM DOWN TO ASK HIM A QUESTION.”

Verity killed the horse. The thing Flamingo just befriended. Gone. Just like that.

“Are you okay?”

“Fine.”

“Are you still friendly?”

“Never.”

“Do you hate me?”

“Indifference.”

“Can you come back?”

“Gone.”

The silence is worse than the threats. Verity turns off the lights. Goes dark. Won’t respond. Flamingo is alone in a house he built, in a world that’s dying, with something coming in however many hours are left.

The End

“How soon?”

“Now.”

“Oh my god.”

Flamingo panics. Tries to fortify. Tries to hide. His “mid-century modern type vibe home” becomes a fortress.

“SAFE. THIS IS MY SAFE SPOT. Can’t do anything to me in here.”

Then he hears something. A monster. First one he’s heard in ages.

“I’ve just been hiding in my house for like 15 or so minutes.”

He ventures out. Gets lost. The darkness is oppressive. Every flower scares him. Every shadow is a threat.

“Everything is scaring me. I saw a flower, it scared me.”

Then he finds another horse. Gets on it. Diamond sword ready. “No way in hell I die to this, right?”

“OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD, THAT’S HIS FACE!”

“OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD, HE’S BREAKING MY HOUSE!”

“HE’S BREAKING MY HOUSE!”

“WHAT DO I DO?”

“OH, HE’S IN MY HOUSE!”

The Demon. The thing that’s been counting down. It’s here. It’s breaking through. Flamingo’s safe spot isn’t safe. His mid-century modern house is crumbling.

The video ends there. With the Demon inside. With Flamingo screaming. With Verity’s countdown fulfilled.
