What’s out right now

Your file has to match your Minecraft version and your loader. Forge build won’t run in NeoForge. 1.20.1 file won’t work on 1.21.1. Getting this wrong is the number one reason people’s installs fail.

Which file do I grab?

Here’s how to figure it out:

Step 1 — What Minecraft do you have? Java or Bedrock? Open the Minecraft Launcher. If it says “Latest Release” with no loader name, you’re on Java. If you launch from the Windows Store app or a console, that’s Bedrock. Verity only works on Java. Details →

Step 2 — What loader? In the Launcher → Installations tab → look at your profile. Says “Forge”? Get the Forge build. Says “NeoForge”? Get NeoForge. Says neither? You don’t have a loader yet — the Install Guide walks you through it.

Step 3 — Download from the project page. The file is a .jar. Don’t unzip it. Don’t rename it. Just save it.

Red flags

A few things that should make you close the tab immediately:

• .exe, .msi, .apk files — The real mod is a .jar. Always.
• “Premium” or “cracked” — Verity is free. There is no paid version.
• “Downloader” programs — You don’t need an installer. Just the .jar.
• “Turn off your antivirus” — Legitimate mods never ask this. Ever.
• YouTube/TikTok link shorteners — These redirect through ad networks. Sometimes to fake download pages. Use the link from the project page.

Bedrock

No official Verity for Bedrock. If you find a “Verity .mcaddon” floating around, it isn’t the real thing. Here’s why →

After you’ve got it

• Don’t unzip it. Don’t rename it.
• Note the file name — useful for verifying it later.
• Head to the Install Guide — it covers the Ollama setup too, which is the step people forget.
